Health Care Reform
The health care reform legislation brings new responsibilities for employers beginning as early as September 23, 2010. These responsibilities will continue to impact businesses into 2018. Although many of the provisions in the bill will not go into effect until 2014, some take effect the first plan year following six months after enactment. The bill will expand coverage to 32 million Americans who are currently uninsured. Every employer, employee, and household will be affected by the $940 billion health reform legislation. Employers should continue talking to employees about health care reform, even if many questions remain unanswered. Below we have provided you with two PowerPoint presentations that have highlighted the health reform provisions for both plan and non-plan related health insurance on a year by year basis.
