Indemnity
Indemnity plans are traditional fee for service plans where employers can select various calendar year maximums, waiting periods, deductibles and coinsurance levels.  Employees enrolled in the indemnity plan have the option of selecting a dentist of his/her choice.

The plan sets the limits that it will pay for each specific type of dental treatment. Members are responsible for paying any remaining balance that might be due based on the type of dental treatment they receive.

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
PPO dental plans offer 100% coverage for most Preventive dental procedures.  A PPO provides the freedom to choose dentists in/out of network, although out-of-pocket costs may be higher when visiting a non-participating dentist. Once your deductible has been met and you have satisfied any waiting period, regardless of your choice of dentist you'll be reimbursed for all or part of your costs for covered procedures up to your annual dollar maximum.

Some of the In-Network benefits of a PPO include but are not limited to:

  • No claim filing when seeing in-network dentists.
  • No hassles of obtaining referrals for specialists.
  • Lower out-of-pocket cost when seeing participating dentist.

Managed Dental Plans
The managed dental plan focuses on prevention with a network of providers to choose from.  In the managed dental plan dentists are paid a set fee that covers most of the services members want and need.  Subscribers have to choose a dentist from the panel of participating professionals.
Some of the benefits of a managed dental plan include but are not limited to:

  • 100% coverage for exams, x-rays and cleanings.
  • No deductibles.
  • No annual maximums.

Dual Option Programs
This program allows employees to receive dental care from either a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or a Managed Dental Plan. Depending on how the plan is set-up, a patient will have the option to move between plans on either an annual basis or month to month. Dual option also allows employers the opportunity to offer a low cost base managed dental plan and a PPO plan, as an employee buy-up option.
